FreightEx Freight Services & FreightEx Logistics, launched in 2013, is a proud extension of the long-standing success of Simonson Station Stores Inc. The Simonson family first entered the petroleum industry in 1933, establishing a legacy of over 90 years with gas stations and travel centers across North Dakota and Minnesota. This impressive track record has made them a leading name in the Upper Midwest’s retail petroleum sector, with more than 20 locations.
The idea of running a 24/7 transportation company was a natural next step for the Simonson group, given their experience with round-the-clock operations. FreightEx was born as an asset-based freight company, launching with just three tractors and three reefer trailers. Initially serving food and beverage clients in the Upper Midwest and Western Canada, FreightEx has since expanded into a mid-sized carrier. Today, our fleet boasts over 50 Kenworth and Peterbilt tractors, along with reefer and van trailers, marking significant growth in just over a decade.
At FreightEx we don’t just rely on our fleet; we also collaborate with hundreds of independent owner-operators and carriers, all of whom undergo a rigorous approval process to ensure they meet top-notch equipment and driver standards. This dedication to quality allows FreightEx to serve all 48 contiguous United States and Canada, with a strong focus on timely deliveries and the safety of their loads and drivers.
